DDGS
DDGS, a by-product of grain distillation, is a valuable resource in sustainable production. Here's how the process works:
1. Slops, the residual liquids from the distillation column, undergo concentration in multiple effect evaporators.
2. The concentrated slops are combined with the decanted residue, primarily composed of proteins and fibrous material from the grain fermentation.
3. This mixture is then dried using indirectly heated rotary dryers or steam tube dryers.
4. The resulting product is DDGS, widely utilized as cattle feed due to its nutritional value.
5. Through this process, the distillery achieves zero discharge, effectively utilizing all by-products in a closed-loop system, promoting environmental sustainability.
